After its official 100 year birthday this past January, Jantzen swimwear is one of the oldest swim lines out there. So it would only make sense that with that much history they would have pretty amazing vintage ads. Currently loving the illustrations in the ads, some of which were done by illustrator Pete Hawley in the 40s and 50s. I recently encountered this ad for “The Shouldaire” from 1931, a bathing suit designed to solve the problem of tan lines, the straps come down without the bathing suit falling off; where is that technology now?!
